Canvas is JHU's learning management system (LMS). You can access all your courses, grades, and assignments through it. Below are some resources to help you get started with Canvas.
Logging Into Canvas
- You can access Canvas using your JHED and password through Canvas at the JHU main page. If you need help logging in for the first time, follow the Canvas log-in guide. If you need help logging in, contact the IT help desk: Report a problem online or call (410) 516-HELP.
- For new students, we recommend making sure you have already set up your JHU email account before accessing Canvas to make sure you receive vital notifications. Canvas notifications are sent from notifications@instructure.com. In your profile settings, this typically uses (JHED@jh.edu) format.
- When you first log in to Canvas, you will see a pop-up. You can accept the conditions, and complete your log-in.
Accessing Your Courses
After logging in, you can access your courses from the Canvas dashboard. To see a complete list of the courses you are enrolled in, click on Courses in the lefthand Global Navigation menu. If you are still unable to see your course, review the guide Why can't I see my course? for more information.
