If you accidentally deleted an item in Canvas, there are a few ways the content can be recovered.

TABLE OF CONTENTS

Undeleting Content

For recently deleted Canvas elements (e.g., Assignments, Pages, Discussions) that you'd like to restore, use Undelete in the URL to restore your item.  Important: This method will work only with recently deleted items.

  1. Go to the Home page of the course.
  2. Type /undelete In the address bar at the end of the course URL.

  3. Hit Enter/Return. The page that appears will contain a list of recently deleted items with restore buttons next to them.
  4. Click restore next to the item you want restored.

Note: If a Discussion is restored, previous student submissions to the discussion will not be restored.

Restoring Content on a Page

If content is deleted on a Canvas Page, you can restore the page to an earlier version by clicking View Page History.

  1. If you have deleted content and saved the Page, go to the vertical 3-dot settings icon and choose View Page History
  2. Select the previous version you'd like to restore and choose Restore this revision.
