AAP periodically updates the syllabus template for policy changes, to improve usability, and to fix issues. Check your syllabus to ensure all of your critical content is present.
Most recently, multiple fields in the previous template were moved or renamed, and three fields were removed: Course Overview, Directions for Students, and Course Participation.
SU '24/FA '24 Updates
- The contents of Appendix A and B were integrated into the body of the syllabus. Course Outlines (previously under Appendix B) moved below Course Structure near the top of the syllabus. The Course Outline table format is now required.

- Additional changes:
- The Artificial Intelligence Policy is now required.
- Program and Course Outcomes moved to the middle of the syllabus.
- Assignment Feedback is now prepopulated with text from the AAP template.
- These fields are no longer in the template: Course Overview, Directions for Students, and
